Compare RC plane stands

Start with the layout, then inspect the parts and fit notes. These three PVC stand concepts use different connectors and hub arrangements.

The images show assembled layouts. Each design page initially previews a single printable part, and its original STL download contains that part. Open a design for customization and companion files.

Use this comparison to choose a design to inspect and test. It does not establish suitability for your aircraft. Check pipe fit, aircraft contact positions, and clearances on the physical build.

Assembled layout of Desktop RC plane stand
Assembled layout

Desktop RC plane stand

Layout
Rectangular PVC frame with corners, tees, and padded V cradles.
Default preview and original STL
One cradle. Companion connectors and fit samples are separate downloads.
Printing and fit
  • Measure PVC outside diameters and print fit rings before full connectors.
  • Starting setup: PETG, 0.20 mm layers, 6 walls, and 40–50% infill. Inspect horizontal bores for support.
  • This is a prototype layout; verify aircraft contact positions and clearances before cutting tubing.

Assembled layout of Fixed-X RC plane stand
Assembled layout

Fixed-X RC plane stand

Layout
Two hubs connect four continuous PVC legs and a linking spine.
Default preview and original STL
One hub. Print two for the stand; fit samples are a separate download.
Printing and fit
  • Print fit rings first, then verify supported channels on one complete hub.
  • Starting setup: PETG, 0.20 mm layers, 6 walls, and 40–50% infill.
  • Bolts secure each leg and spine; this prototype has not been load tested.

Assembled layout of Sliding-X RC plane stand
Assembled layout

Sliding-X RC plane stand

Layout
Adjustable hub spacing along a spine, with a locking screw and captured nut.
Default preview and original STL
Original hub. Alternative low-support and flush-sleeve exports have different geometry.
Printing and fit
  • Print two hubs and test pipe fit before assembling the stand.
  • The original hub requires supports around horizontal channels and the raised body. Alternative exports have different print geometry.
  • Measure pipe diameters and check locking force and aircraft clearances on the physical build.
