Teaching harness , help you to learn anything , It teaches like real teacher , design curriculum , generate videos , simulations , images , pdfs , tracks your learning style etc

Summary

GNOS is a teaching harness made of skills, scripts, and visual tools that turns a supported coding agent (Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, OpenCode, or Antigravity) into a curriculum-aware tutor. It plans a learning route from materials like university syllabi, textbooks, and documentation, then adjusts upcoming lessons based on what the learner actually tried and where their reasoning broke. Output is not limited to text; the harness can produce diagrams, simulations, narrated video, and PDF handouts, and render the result in a browser-based course viewer.

What it is useful for

GNOS fits engineers who want to study a large topic, such as the README's example of moving from reinforcement learning to GRPO, with structure rather than ad-hoc chatbot answers. The README describes three pain points it targets: generic-sounding explanations, lessons that lose the thread across sessions, and treating a correct answer as evidence of understanding. To address these, subject-specific teacher personas live in SOUL.md files, a living course plan plus learner records persists across sessions, and tracking distinguishes "saw an explanation," "solved with help," and "solved independently," with the next exercise picked from that evidence. The course viewer renders the curriculum and current lesson as a study page you can open in a browser.

How engineers can use it

The README lists Git, Python 3, and a supported coding agent as prerequisites. Clone once and use the folder as your workspace:

git clone https://github.com/madhvantyagi/Gnos.git
cd Gnos

Then follow the agent-specific flow:

  • Codex: install via codex plugin marketplace add madhvantyagi/Gnos --ref main and codex plugin add gnos@gnos, then ask: "Use GNOS. Read skills/learning-orchestrator/SKILL.md in this workspace and teach me [topic]."
  • Claude Code: run claude --plugin-dir . from Gnos, then enter /gnos:learning-orchestrator Teach me [topic]. The README notes --plugin-dir is session-only, so relaunch with the flag each session.
  • Cursor: add the repository through Customize, open a new agent chat, and send the same prompt.
  • OpenCode / Antigravity: open the Gnos folder, run opencode (or open it in Antigravity), and send: "Read AGENTS.md, then skills/learning-orchestrator/SKILL.md. Use GNOS to teach me [topic]."

Visual servers (Excalidraw, Pinepaper) are wired through MCP; Codex and Claude Code load them from .mcp.json, and Cursor uses the in-README Add-to-Cursor buttons. Documented constraints: Pinepaper needs Node.js/npm, image generation relies on the agent's available tools, and PDF and video lessons need their own dependencies, so media availability varies by environment. To study the generated course, ask the agent: "Show my course in the browser."
