Curated fork of obra/superpowers skills for solo development workflows

Summary

solopowers is a curated, Shell-based pack of agent skills derived from obra/superpowers, adapted for solo development workflows. It organizes work around a single workstream document, executes sequential slices in a Git worktree, and pauses for manual smoke tests after automated review gates pass.

What it is useful for

The pack is useful when a solo engineer wants coding agents to follow a defined development process without maintaining separate specification and planning documents. For example, workstream-brainstorming explores a feature and creates a document at docs/workstreams/YYYY-MM-DD-<topic>.md; workstream-driven-development then executes that document slice by slice.

It also provides supporting workflows for isolated feature work with using-git-worktrees, structured branch completion with finishing-a-development-branch, and concurrent independent tasks with dispatching-parallel-agents. Quality-oriented skills include test-driven development, root-cause-first debugging, verification before completion, ad-hoc code review, and handling review feedback.

Dispatch instructions account for Pi, kiro-cli, claude-code, and Antigravity. The concrete mechanism for each platform is stored in the relevant skill’s “Harness Dispatch” or “Platform-Specific Subagent Dispatch” section rather than in a shared integration layer.

This is described as a personal derivation, not an official fork of obra/superpowers. Upstream changes must either be cherry-picked unchanged or ported according to the “Skill Lifecycle” guidance in AGENTS.md, so upstream behavior is not adopted automatically.

How engineers can use it

Install the pack with the documented command:

npx skills add https://github.com/dtbndr/solopowers

For a local checkout, the README also documents:

npx skills add ~/Development/skills-ws/solopowers

After installation, start with the using-solopowers meta-skill for skill discovery. A typical workflow is to run workstream-brainstorming for a feature, review the resulting workstream document, and then use workstream-driven-development to implement its slices sequentially. At the documented pause points, run the relevant tests and perform a manual smoke test before continuing.

For independent work, dispatching-parallel-agents can run multiple subagents concurrently. Use test-driven-development, systematic-debugging, and verification-before-completion as supporting skills during implementation, then apply dispatching-code-review before finishing the branch.

The README does not provide an application build or launch command; this repository is a skill pack. Consult the README and the individual SKILL.md files for the current platform-specific dispatch details.
