Collection of extensions and themes for Pi Coding Agent - luongnv89/pi-extensions

Summary

luongnv89/pi-extensions is a curated catalog of 13 extensions, 1 skill, and 8 themes that extend the Pi Coding Agent. The packages add external model providers, UI/footer customizations, and agent-side tools, with most distributed as npm packages and installable with a single pi install npm:<name> command. It is a TypeScript project released under the MIT license.

What it is useful for

Engineers using Pi as a coding agent get a single place to add capabilities that Pi itself doesn't ship with:

  • New model providers without writing HTTP plumbing. claude-code-pi, grok-pi, opencode-pi, agy-pi, cursor-pi, and 9router-pi each register a Pi provider backed by a local CLI (for example claude -p, cursor-agent -p, or agy). Pick them with /model after install.
  • Richer terminal UI. statusline-pi replaces Pi's default footer with branch, changed-file count, PR number, remaining context window (with zone coloring like Plan / Dump / Dead), tokens-per-second, and provider/model info. timestamp-pi adds a dim timestamp under every message plus a 5-minute prompt-cache TTL countdown in the footer.
  • Multi-agent workflows. pi-fusion adds a delegate tool backed by a persistent nested Pi session on a cheaper model that keeps its own context across delegations. The pi-delegator skill lets the main agent hand off a task to a separate Pi subprocess.
  • Debugging and cost control. advisor-pi registers an advisor tool so the executor model can ask a configured advisor model for strategic guidance. cache-warm sends opt-in keep-alive pings (default off, /cache-warm on) and reports estimated USD saved. model-debugger logs requests/responses to ~/.pi/agent/logs/.

Themes include aura, neon-green (+ light), opencode, omarchy, synthwave-84, and zed-dark / zed-light.

How engineers can use it

Install a single package and reload:

pi install npm:statusline-pi
pi install npm:advisor-pi # then /reload in Pi

You can pin a version (pi install npm:[email protected]), install project-local so it writes .pi/settings.json (pi install -l npm:statusline-pi), or try one session without installing (pi -e npm:advisor-pi).

To install the full collection in one shot:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/luongnv89/pi-extensions/main/install.sh | bash -s -- --auto

Or from a clone: git clone https://github.com/luongnv89/pi-extensions ~/.pi/pi-extensions then ~/.pi/pi-extensions/install.sh --auto. Manage with pi list, pi update --extensions, and pi remove npm:advisor-pi. After any change, type /reload.

Documented limitations worth noting: CLI-backed providers like claude-code-pi and cursor-pi have no HTTP API or built-in provider fallback, and agy-pi requires the agy CLI on PATH (pip install agy-cli) plus configured API keys. pi-fusion's sidekick runs with full coding tools by default and has no approval prompts (use /fusion tools readonly to restrict it). cache-warm's 5-minute TTL is an Anthropic heuristic, and timestamp-pi requires Pi >= 0.84.
